Let's hear a little bit about Further Studios.

In 1996, we started a small Alaskan web design firm called Premium Polar Web Design. Soon, clients wanted us to design logos, newspaper ads and book covers for them also. Then we moved to Portland, and then Tacoma. Suddenly, our little Premium Polar Web Design firm wasn't so polar (and wasn't so limited to web design). A name change was in order. Clients lined up for all sorts of designs: web sites, logos, business cards, brochures, magazine ads, book covers, videos, corporate vehicle paint jobs, you name it.

Now we're back in Alaska, the land we love, but the new name stays.

Who is Further Studios?

Further Studios is the brainchild of Lester Nelson and Adam Segura. They both attended the Art Institute of Portland, and creativity flows quickly through their veins.

We are Further Studios. We design cool stuff.

What is identity design?

I wish we had a nickel for every time we were asked that. I also wish a nickel was worth a million dollars.

Good identity design projects a business as being professional and honest. Your identity is what people say about you when you're not around. It's the first thing that pops into a customer's head when they think about your company. It's everything; a combination of logos, fonts, colors, pictures, iconography and layouts that make up the visual identity of a corporation. A corporation with good design sense pays close attention to the set of rules created by their design team in order to achieve a consistent, stable and professional look.

If you choose us for your identity management, you'll not only receive your logos and any other design work you purchased, you'll also receive a custom handbook created specifically for your company to make sure that all your future projects stay true to the ideas and concepts behind our great designs.

What are other people saying about us?

"Lester Nelson has more enthusiasm, persistence, and love for his craft than any other creative director I've worked with. His ideas are fresh, fun, and believable. Being so far away (I live in Australia) I thought, 'out of sight, out of mind,' but I was wrong. Further Studios is a sure bet."
-David Emberton
Creative consultant; Co-author of the Flash Magic series of books; Former editor for Australian Personal Computer

"Les Nelson is the creator of the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District logo. When the District needed an updated logo representing children as the focus, it turned to Mr. Nelson. The now famous logo including a graduation cap, the state of Alaska, an apple and the words 'where kids come first' has become a part of the district's letterhead, clothing line, publications, and banners. KPBSD represents 9500 students, 1300 staff, and 44 schools. Obviously, with this large organization, image is important. Mr. Nelson has created a timeless 'brand' for all that the District represents. His work and style is appreciated."
-Donna Peterson, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools, KPBSD

"Having known Les for many years I can personally attest to his devotion to detail, and talent for producing good design. I have worked together with Les on more than one project, and the collaboration has always been professional, fair, and honest. Les is a creative designer and a breeze to work with."
-Josh Pope
Graphic and Web Designer

"Les has a brilliant eye for design, and uses an astute sense of balance, proportion, and placement to create commercial art, and web sites, in particular, that could have just as easily come out of Seattle or New York as Soldotna, Alaska. I would heartily recommend Les Nelson and Further Studios to be able to successfully and professionally complete any task given them. His work is without peer in this market, and I foresee Further Studios becoming the preeminent web design service in this area."
-Chris Jenness
Graphic Designer

"We've been fans and customers of Further Studios for five years, and we've hired them to do web and print design for us on several occasions. The work they do is always beautiful, simple, and perfectly fitting for the project at hand. We're very happy customers, to say the least.

"Their keen eye for detail and ability to turn projects around in a very limited time frame has always impressed us. We've often asked them to do last minute work for us and they always surprise us with the quality of work they provide under such constraints. They're truly masters at what they do, and we're always looking forward to working with them again."
